Tour Details

The impressive Arenal Volcano is a natural wonder located in La Fortuna de San Carlos, Alajuela, offering thousands of tourists the opportunity to appreciate the columns of white smoke, ash, and fumarolic activity emanating from the conical colossus. It is important to note that the volcano had remained dormant for at least 450 years until July 29, 1968, when it experienced a major eruption, marking the start of a new period of pyroclastic activity that has been decreasing in recent years.

En route to Arenal Volcano, we will stop in the famous town of Sarchí, known as the cradle of Costa Rican artisans, where you will have the best opportunity to purchase souvenirs such as woodwork, clothing, and other keepsakes.

In Sarchí, you will likely see an oxcart that holds the title of the world's largest. Built from cedar and decorated with striking colors like bright orange, its design is both traditional and intricate. This two-story structure took 70 days to complete and holds an honorable mention in the Guinness World Records.

The journey continues through forested areas and plantations of various agricultural products, including coffee, pineapple, and ornamental plants, as well as cattle farms. Along the way, you will reach the beautiful town of La Fortuna to stop and enjoy lunch at a cozy restaurant with a spectacular view of the Arenal Volcano.

After lunch, we will visit a viewpoint located closer to the base of the volcano, where you can also enjoy views of Lake Arenal.
Eventually, guests will relax and unwind in some of the area's finest hot springs, where they can enjoy their rejuvenating effects. Optional activities, such as massages or other special treatments, are also available but must be reserved in advance to ensure availability.

The Baldí facilities offer tourists 25 thermal water pools that flow naturally from the volcano. These medicinal waters are certified by the L.N.A. (National Water Laboratory), and temperatures range from 33 to 66 degrees Celsius (93-152°F), providing guests with a wide range of options to suit their personal preference.

And for the perfect finale, before returning to San José, a delicious dinner is served with a great view of the volcano, so you won't miss any opportunity to appreciate it once more.
