Once the coffee explanation is over, we will continue our way toward the Poás Volcano. As we ascend, you will notice the difference in microclimates and vegetation, appreciating the great agricultural diversity present during the journey, including: ferns, flowers, and strawberries, as well as livestock farms and views of the Central Valley creating a beautiful landscape.

This 2,708-meter (8,000-foot) high colossus is active, and you will not only admire its impressive crater and gas emanations, but also learn about its phreatic and fumarolic activity, as well as the different ecosystems and exuberant vegetation found in this beautiful national park.

We will continue our way toward La Paz Waterfall Gardens. Upon arrival, we will walk along a beautiful trail that leads to different attractions in the park, including the aviary, the largest butterfly observatory in the country, the hummingbird gallery, the serpentarium, and the frog, monkey, and feline exhibits. Afterward, a delicious buffet-style lunch awaits us in the middle of the rainforest. Once lunch is finished, we will take a hike where we can visit three imposing natural waterfalls formed by the La Paz River itself.

It should be noted that this hike takes place in the tropical rainforest sector and includes steps in some parts of the route; the trail is paved.
